Il router Wan Wireless TP-Link TL-WR340GD integra firewall, Router NAT e funzionalità di Access Point tutto in un unico prodotto.
Il prodotto è destinato a realizzare una soluzione di networking Wireless per ambienti SOHO (Small Office/Home Office). Dispone di uno switch 4 porte RJ45 per connettere più dispositivi tramite cavo LAN.
L'access Point 54 Mbps di cui è dotato il dispositivo permette di connettersi alla rete wireless senza alcun problema e di condividere la connessione Internet e files in tutta sicurezza ed in modo estremamente semplice.
Particolare attenzione viene posta al discorso sicurezza; il router WR340GD fornisce infatti diverse misure di sicurezza ed in diversi standard. E' possibile disabilitare l'invio in broadcast dell'SSID per far connettere solo i client che conoscono l'SSID; supporta il cripting dei dati in standard WEP a 64/128/512 bit ma anche la modalità di autenticazione WPA/WPA2/WPA-PSK e la nuovissima WPA2-PSK con sistema TKIP/AES.
Supportati pure i tunnel VPN in modalità pass-through.
Rimane, ovviamente, la compatibilità con ambienti misti, cioé con altri dispositivi 802.11b o 802.11g.
La gestione del prodotto avviene tramite un pannello di controllo flessibile e di immediato utilizzo: l'amministratore di rete o il semplice utilizzatore possono settare policies di accesso per bambini o per lo staff. WR340G ha nativamente funzionalità di server NAT e DHCP in modo da distribuire le risorse IP ai clienti collegati. Supporta la creazione di Virtual Servers e DMZ nonché management remoto avanzato.
